Spatial and temporal distribution of shallow assemblages in the Marine Protected Area of Capo Carbonara (Sardinia)

Abstract
The spatial and temporal variability of shallow assemblages of hard bottoms have been assessed within the Capo Carbonara Marine Protected Area (Sardinia, Western Mediterranean) in order to assess the ecological quality of coastal waters and identify possible unfavourable conditions. The presence of highly sensitive communities and species, and the lack of significant difference among investigated years and coastal sectors, suggest that this area has not been recently affected by significant anthropogenic pressures.
